Bring rhythm to your virtual reality experience with this rhythm based skill game. In tribute to the classic rhythm games of yore, AudioBeats puts you inside the world of rhythm based gaming.
AudioBeats is unashamedly a tribute act to the original rhythm games that first had us frantically clicking in time to music. You take your virtual seat and try to hit the four "knocking panels" (think drums) in time with the flying orb indicators that are coming down the line towards you. There are six original tracks to play along to, and three difficulty settings for each one. The developer boasts a "sophisticated algorithm" for detecting collisions, hopefully avoiding frustrating incidents of correctly timed hits not being registered by the game. There are three types of notes for you to hit; single, long key, and direction key, which adds a level of complexity to keep things fresh. The graphics are a stylish neon affair; not spectacular but they do the job nicely.
Needs More Content
If you've ever played a rhythm game, AudioBeats is just that plus VR. It's good fun, but there aren't many song and the visuals don't change much. Some new settings and more songs would be a welcome addition. AudioBeats is good, but you won't lose hours and hours to it.
